The Challenge

The digital revolution is transforming Africa, but women and girls risk being left behind. The gender digital divide is real and growing. Women are 15% less likely than men to own a mobile phone in Sub-Saharan Africa. Gender gaps in internet access exceed 30% in some regions. Tech sector employment remains heavily male-dominated. Digital literacy programs rarely reach marginalized women and girls in rural areas. Online gender-based violence is increasing, with limited support systems.

Without digital access and skills, women cannot use online legal services or document rights violations. They cannot access educational resources and economic opportunities. They cannot participate in digital advocacy and peacebuilding. They cannot compete for jobs in the growing tech economy. They cannot protect themselves from technology-facilitated abuse.

Our Approach

We bridge the digital divide through comprehensive technology programming.

Building Digital Foundations

Digital literacy training for women and girls at all levels. Access to devices, connectivity, and digital infrastructure. Programs in local languages that meet women where they are. Special focus on reaching rural and marginalized communities.

Developing Tech Talent

Coding and software development training. STEM and tech career pathway programs. Women's entrepreneurship in technology. Mentorship connecting women with tech industry leaders.

Using Tech for Justice and Peace

Digital tools for accessing legal services and documentation. Online platforms for women's advocacy and organizing. Technology for early warning systems and conflict prevention. Digital safety training to prevent technology-facilitated abuse.

Creating Innovation Hubs

Safe spaces for women's tech learning and collaboration. Support for women-led tech innovation and solutions. Partnerships with tech companies, hubs, and incubators. Showcasing African women's technological leadership.

Impact

Technology is a powerful equalizer. Women with digital access and skills connect to legal services, health information, and support systems. They compete for jobs in high-growth sectors. They amplify their voices in advocacy and peacebuilding. They create innovative solutions to community challenges. They build economic independence and agency. They become leaders in Africa's digital transformation.

We're not just closing the gender digital divide—we're ensuring African women lead in shaping technology's future
