GIRLS’ RIGHT TO EDUCATION
Across Africa, millions of girls are denied education. Poverty forces them to work. Early marriage steals their childhood.
The Issue
Across Africa, millions of girls are denied education. Poverty forces them to work. Early marriage steals their childhood. Conflict closes their schools. Gender-based violence makes classrooms unsafe. Without education, girls cannot break cycles of poverty, claim their rights, or reach their potential.
Why It Matters
Education transforms everything. An educated girl marries later, has fewer and healthier children, earns more income, participates in decisions that affect her life, and raises educated children. Communities and nations prosper when girls are educated.
What We’re Doing
Removing financial barriers through scholarships. Creating safe schools free from violence. Providing remedial education for out-of-school girls in conflict zones. Integrating STEM and digital literacy so girls compete in the modern economy. Mentoring girls to become leaders. Working with communities to keep girls in school.
